Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation

The Foundation raises charitable dollars in support of the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter (SCCAS) and its mission to safeguard and improve the lives of domestic pets. As the county’s sole open-admission facility, SCCAS has a bedrock of municipal funding for core services such as animal control, licensing, rabies vaccinations, and housing for strays and surrenders. Their key preventive efforts, however, require private money. Vital programs such as spay/neuter clinics and outreach to underserved communities are dependent on donations. The Foundation works to ensure that SCCAS has a steady source of private funding to provide program stability and expansion of proven preventive outreach.
