Join the Santa Cruz Area Chamber on October 15th & 16th for our Community Leadership Visit: Staycation Edition, a two-day journey across Santa Cruz County designed to give you a behind-the-scenes look at the projects, programs, and investments shaping our region’s future. Our Community Leadership Visits typically take us beyond Santa Cruz County, giving us the opportunity to learn from other communities, discover new ideas, and bring those insights home. This year, we’re bringing that experience closer to home. From transportation and water infrastructure to tourism, agriculture, healthcare, downtown development, and the future Santa Cruz Warriors arena, we’ll hear directly from the leaders behind these efforts, explore what’s happening on the ground, and gain a deeper understanding of what these developments mean for our businesses and our communities. Here’s Where We’re Going Day 1 takes us across Santa Cruz for a series of tours, conversations, and experiences, including: > Updates from METRO Santa Cruz Transit District > Lunch with UCSC at The Grove at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk > Downtown Santa Cruz business and infrastructure walking tour > Visit Santa Cruz County Visitors Center experience > Update on the future Santa Cruz Warriors arena > Tour of the Pure Water Soquel groundwater replenishment and seawater intrusion prevention project > Presentation on plans for the Capitola Mall site > Group dinner at Chaminade Resort Day 2 heads south for an inside look at the people, places, and investments driving the Pajaro Valley and South County forward: > South County agriculture excursion > City of Watsonville Updates > Tour of the new Pajaro Valley Health Trust Wellness Center > Lunch at Woody’s at the Airport > And more exciting stops to be announced!
