Jon Haveman is a Principal at Marin Economic Consulting, an economic research and consulting firm specializing in entrepreneurship and local economic development issues. Dr. Haveman is an expert on regional economies and local economic development and on the Bay Area Economy in particular. He is also widely considered one of California’s leading experts on the economics of seaports, goods movement, and international trade policy. Prior to founding Haveman Economic Consulting, Dr. Haveman was the Chief Economist at the Bay Area Council Economic Institute, a founding principal at Beacon Economics, and the Director of the Economy Program at the Public Policy Institute of California. He has been a Senior Economist with the President's Council of Economic Advisers, an Economist with the Federal Trade Commission, and held a faculty position at the Business School at Purdue University. A prolific author, Dr. Haveman has published extensively on local economic development policy, transportation, and security issues at California's seaports, business outsourcing, and trade in technology products. He also has a lengthy record of publishing articles in the areas of labor and international economics and work history related to private asset accumulation. A well-known media commentator, Dr. Haveman has been quoted in The Economist, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Sacramento Bee, and San Jose Mercury News, among many other publications. His radio and television appearances include regular interviews on CBS Channel 5 in San Francisco, and interviews on KCBS AM, KGO AM, and KQED public radio. Dr. Haveman regularly speaks at events across California and has testified at numerous federal and state government hearings on issues related to seaport activity and security, technology trade, and local economic development. Dr. Haveman holds a Ph.D. and Master of Science in Economics from The University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Wisconsin.

Terence Concannon

CEO for Visit Santa Cruz County

Terence has over 25 years of experience in hospitality and tourism in California, Arizona, and Ohio, including sales, marketing and operations for hotels, destinations and events. He comes to Santa Cruz County after six years in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where he led Go Lake Havasu, the city’s Destination Management Organization. Terence is also an educator and was the lead instructor at Arizona State University at Lake Havasu’s Tourism & Recreation Department.

Dr. Larry deGhetaldi

Sutter/PAMF (Retired)

Following a distinguished career of nearly 40 years dedicated to the care of Northern California patients, Dr. Larry deGhetaldi has announced his retirement in March 2023 as Vice President, Government Medical Affairs.

Dr. deGhetaldi’s impact on Sutter Health as a practicing physician and leader is highly respected. He spent his entire medical career with Sutter and retires as one of their longest-serving physician executives. In addition to his clinical practice and leadership at the regional level, Dr. deGhetaldi has an extensive leadership record in his community, our state, and nationally as a champion of quality,financial sustainability, access to care, and advancing data capabilities. For years, he has served as a Sutter voice and subject matter expert to numerous stakeholders at both the federal and state levels.

Dennis Webb
President of the Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau

Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau is the largest agricultural organization in the County. Dennis is the youngest President in its 107 year history. He is part of the Big Creek Lumber Company, which was founded by his great-grandfather, grandfather and great uncle. His two children are now the 6th generation in Santa Cruz County. Dennis graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Big Creek Lumber owns or manages 17,500 acres of forest land. Dennis is the Chief Forester for the company, and manages a team of 11, along with 50 seasonal contractors. Big Creek Lumber has six retail stores in California. Dennis and his family reside in the City of Santa Cruz.

Marshall Delk
Vice President and Senior Business Banking Officer, Santa Cruz County Bank

Having worked at the bank for 10 years, Marshall is a long time community banker as both a founder of Santa Cruz County Bank and Lighthouse Bank and prior to that President of Monterey Bay Bank. As a 30 year resident of Santa Cruz County, Marshall has been involved with a number of non-profit organizations, including Dominican Hospital Foundation, Cabrillo College Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Cruz County, and Santa Cruz County Workforce Development Board. Marshall received a BS in Accounting from the University of Louisville as well as a MS in Taxation from Golden Gate University. In his spare time Marshall enjoys outdoor adventures including hiking, rafting and travel as well as a 20 year participant in CrossFit.
