Join us for the Santa Cruz County Chamber Women’s Leadership Summit. This is a Women in Business-themed summit with the intent to make it a premier event that brings together a network of diverse women who are breaking down barriers, making themselves visible, and manifesting their careers —while making a difference in the world.

The summit will be a day of listening, learning, community-building, and an opportunity to explore leadership, empowerment, and the importance of strong mentorship and allies. The theme for this summit is Own the Journey where we explore ways for you to engage, influence, and thrive. As the effects of the global pandemic linger, we need bold leadership to bring far-reaching changes and uncertainty for businesses and the workforce. From burnout, talent shortages, and mass layoffs to climate change, geopolitics, and inflation today’s leaders are facing a myriad of risks and concerns. We invite you to look at leadership differently. At the 2023 Women’s Leadership Summit we’ll explore leadership lessons from real women just like you. Through dynamic speakers, interactive activities, and networking opportunities, we’ll learn how to tap into our own leadership potential and use it to create positive change in our lives, workplaces, and beyond. Together we’ll be inspired to lead with purpose and make a difference right where we are, where we want to be, and how we own our journey.

The summit will be a day of learning, community-building, and an opportunity to explore leadership, empowerment, and the importance of strong mentorship and allies.

Tricia Timm – Being Your Authentic Self in the Workplace

Tricia Montalvo Timm is a first-generation Latina who rose through the ranks of Silicon Valley advising high-tech companies big and small, culminating in the sale of data analytics software company Looker to Google for $2.6 billion. Tricia is one of the few Latinas to have attained the triple achievement of reaching the C-suite, joining the boardroom, and cracking the venture capital ceiling. Her career has spanned from working with some of the largest publicly traded multinational companies to stepping on as one of the first leaders to help build and scale several high-growth start-ups. www.triciatimm.com

Lauren Seaver - KSBW Morning Anchor
Lauren Seaver anchors KSBW Action News 8 Sunrise with co-anchor Paul Dudley, Meteorologist Gina DeVecchio, and Traffic Reporter Jaclyn Dunn Monday through Friday from 5 a.m.-7 a.m. Lauren also reports throughout the week. Lauren began her career with KSBW 8 in 2014 as a weekend evening anchor and was promoted to weekday Sunrise anchor in 2017 (which is when she started drinking coffee by the pot!). During Lauren's time with KSBW 8, she's covered many big stories and events including wildfires, winter storms, political rallies for presidential contenders, AT&T Pebble Beach ProAm, California Rodeo Salinas, Monterey Car Week, and Pebble Beach Food and Wine, where she had the opportunity to make tacos with Guy Fieri. Lauren comes to KSBW 8 from Jacksonville, FL, where she worked as a general assignment reporter. Before that, Lauren started her television career as a reporter in Chico, CA. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Public Administration from California State University, Chico. Lauren is originally from the Big Island of Hawaii, where her dad worked as a marine biologist and her mom as a special education teacher. Lauren is grateful to call the Central Coast home and live near family on the Monterey Peninsula. Being a KSBW 8 news anchor runs in her family—her aunt anchored KSBW 8's 5 p.m. newscast with Dan Green back in the 90s. Lauren is married to her high school sweetheart. They have one child—their miracle son. She's passionate about volunteering for local organizations such as the Panetta Institute's Monterey County Reads, Girls Inc., San Benito Babe Ruth Bambinos, and Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys running in local races, completing the Big Sur Marathon, and various half marathons in the area. She also loves traveling, reading new books with her book club, and going to the beach.

Deborah Lindsay – Overcoming Challenges to FIND YOUR VOICE, TRUST YOUR GUT & GET FROM WHERE YOU ARE TO WHERE YOU WANT TO BE
Deborah Lindsay is a Fractional COO with a 30+ year career in Operational Management in startups, small businesses, and non-profits, with her most recent work with Santa Cruz local startups, SellHound and PitchHub. She's had the privilege of working across a variety of sectors from event production, education, media, government, and tech with her primary focus on operational excellence, sustainability, and multi-stakeholder engagement. With her passion for working with mission-driven organizations, she launched her own business in 2022 to help bring to life solutions for today for a better world tomorrow. Yolande Wilburn
Yolande Wilburn is the Director of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries, a joint powers authority library system that consists of 10 libraries that serve the cities of Capitola, Scotts Valley, Santa Cruz, and Santa Cruz County. Yolande has held various leadership positions in public, academic, rural, and urban libraries, including an international stint in Dubai. Yolande is a California Library Association’s Board of Directors member and serves on the Advocacy and Legislation Committee. As the first African American woman of color to lead the Santa Cruz Public Libraries, Yolande has overseen the reopening of five library branches, with two additional locations set to open by the end of the year. Ms. Wilburn received her master’s degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University and her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Illinois.

Erica Padilla-Chavez
Erica is the Chief Executive Officer at Second Harvest Food Bank. She also serves as a Community College trustee and a board member of Dignity Health Dominican Hospital. Erica was born in Watsonville, CA and is a graduate of Watsonville High School. She was the first in her family to attend a university and is proud to be a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and a Masters in Public Administration from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. With over two decades of experience in the health and human services field, Erica has a history of facilitating collaborations that can impact positive changes in communities. She has a deep understanding of health equity and is well versed in the social determinants of health, the conditions that affect a wide range of health and quality of life outcomes for people. Her carrier spans a wide range of administrative experiences including serving as the Department Manager for UCSC’s Latin American & Latino Studies Department, served as the first Health Equity and Policy Manager for Monterey County, and she was formerly the CEO of Pajaro Valley Prevention & Student Assistance, Inc., an organization that offers behavioral health and social services support to children, youth, and families.
