A Death Café is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is not a grief support group or counseling session, just some folks getting together to talk about death. The Death Café movement includes events all over the world. Learn more at deathcafe.com. We recommended you read the book ahead of time, but you can also participate if you have yet to read the book.

About the book: With extraordinarily helpful insights and inspiring true stories, award-winning journalist Katy Butler shows us how to thrive in later life (even when coping with a chronic medical condition), how to get the best from our health system, and how to make your own “good death” more likely. The Art of Dying Well prepares readers for seven phases of late life, from vigorous old age to the final breath. Filled with life-affirming and relatable anecdotes, each chapter addresses a specific stage: Resilience, Slowing Down, Adaptation, Awareness of Mortality, House of Cards, Preparing for a Good Death, and Active Dying.
