UCSC Music Center Recital Hall
Our opening event features some of the bestknown baroque works delightfully interpreted by a set of unexpected ensembles. Virtuoso Shoko Hikage leads the California Koto Ensemble in Vivaldi's The Four Seasons (1723). The sounds of the koto, a traditional Asian zither instrument, are nicely balanced by William Winant's Bach on Bars marimba ensemble. Finally we feature Mesut Özgen's Santa Cruz Guitar Orchestra playing J.S. Bach favorites.
