Event Description:

Did you know the average American uses 500 disposable plastic bags a year? And that less than 5% of those are recycled after only one use? The majority end up in our landfills and oceans, and that's just plain awful.

Ditch the disposables for Bring Your Own Bag Day on Thursday, December 15th in Santa Cruz County!
 Save Our Shores will be on location from 4-6pm to hand out these custom-made, free reusable bags at these participating retail outlets:

    Mi Pueblo Foods in Watsonville
    The Capitola Mall
    Live Oak Supermarket
    Staples
    Kmart in Scotts Valley
    Scotts Valley Market
    Nob Hill Foods in Scotts Valley

 
Thousands of additional reusable bags will be given out by our Partner locations:

In the City of Santa Cruz:

    Charlie Hong Kong: Handing out their own reusable bags.
    New Leaf Westside: It's Double Enviro-Token Day!
    New Leaf Downtown: It's Double Enviro-Token Day!
    Whole Foods Market on Soquel Ave: Distributing mesh produce bags while supplies last!

In Unincorporated Santa Cruz County:

    Safeway in Aptos: Handing out reusable bags while supplies last!
    Safeway on 41st Avenue: Handing out reusable bags while supplies last!
    Safeway in Felton: Handing out reusable bags while supplies last!
    Safeway on Freedom Boulevard: Handing out reusable bags while supplies last!
    New Leaf Felton: It's Double Enviro-Token Day!
    New Leaf Boulder Creek: It's Double Enviro-Token Day!
