The founder, owner and CEO of Dollars and Sense, a California corporation, Caroline Murphy has 20 years' experience in tax and financial analysis. A UC Santa Cruz graduate who also attended Santa Clara Law School, Murphy launched Dollars and Sense tax preparation company in 1999. She is an Enrolled Agent, licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service (0096137-EA).
In 2010, Dollars and Sense expanded to include Enrolled Agent Representation services, assisting taxpayers in resolving and negotiating resolution with IRS collections, levies, liens, audits and appeals.
Dollars and Sense's mission is to provide individuals and corporations with comprehensive tax and financial services. Specialities include tax planning and preparation, tax reduction strategies and tax issue representation in front of the IRS. This includes audit and examination, appeals, and collections support. Additional services include accounting systems setup, entity structure selection, retirement planning, wealth management, budgeting, forecasting, property analysis and proformas, incorporation, entity structure consulting and other financial services.
"Dollars and Sense has steadily grown through word of mouth referrals and community workshops," said Murphy, a Santa Cruz resident. "Dollars and Sense has grown to include part time staff and many new individual and corporate clients."
Dollars and Sense moved into the new location on Monday, January 9 and partnered in the development and purchase of a vacant retail unit at 2030 N. Pacific Ave.
"We are excited to assist in the expansion of the downtown business district towards River Street," said Murphy.
The Dollars and Sense office is located on the ground floor of the 2030 N. Pacific Avenue, the new luxury condos building that offers a resort-style pool, spa and fitness center.
