Event Description:

Annual Community Recognition Dinner and Live Auction

Come for a fun, exciting, and entertaining evening on Friday, November 30th as we honor Santa Cruz County leaders at a gala event at the beautiful Cocoanut Grove. Our 2012 Community Recognition Awards recipients are a truly remarkable group, reflecting local investment and community development, the highest integrity and creativity, and qualities of leadership to which we can all aspire. Please join us in recognizing the best in our community at our annual Santa Cruz County Community Recognition Dinner.

  • Join us for a delicious dinner in the historic Cocoanut Grove overlooking Monterey Bay
  • Celebrate our honorees at the awards ceremony in the Grand Ballroom
  • Enjoy the reception with more than 300 local business and community leaders attending
  • Enter the raffle to win an iPad donated by Kent and Cathy Schlumbrecht
  • Silent and Live Auctions with a Tahoe ski adventure, a plane ride over the mountains and bay to San Francisco, Segway trip, sailing trip, MacBook Air, whale watching, media packages, and more! Our Silent Auction is filled with great items generously donated by local businesses, restaurants, stores, hotels, and individuals. Don’t miss the gift baskets, jewelry, date night packages, tickets, outdoor adventures, wine, and art!


This premier event features a silent auction, a delicious buffet, and our entertaining live auction. The Awards ceremony follows, with our awards to these Santa Cruz County leaders:

         

Man of the Year - Peter Prindle
Woman of the Year - Donna Murphy
Business of the Year - Cruzio Internet
Organization of the Year - The Tannery Art Center Project
Entrepreneur of the Year - Five3 Genomics
Lifetime Achievement - Bruce Woolpert


Recipients join past honorees, including century-old Santa Cruz County family and business names such as Bargetto, Haber, Leask, McPherson, Ow, Swenson, and Baskin, as well as the Seaside Company, Dominican Hospital, O’Neill, the Cultural Council, Goodwill, and United Way.

We have some fabulous items at our auction, including a sailing trip on San Francisco Bay, a technology package featuring a MacBook Air, a private plane tour from Watsonville to San Francisco and back, a Tahoe romantic getaway, Segway tour, media package, and more! The proceeds from the auction are retained and used specifically for the Chamber in its ongoing efforts to enhance economic vitality of its members and the Santa Cruz County community.
