Explore the "back lots" of Santa Cruz’s thriving arts community at the just-opened Tannery Art Center’s Digital Media & Creative Arts Complex, Wednesday, Aug 29 from 5-7 p.m.
 
The Tanyard Building and Beam House were rehabilitated for the Digital Media and Creative Arts Center by the City’s former Redevelopment Agency with federal and state grant funds. The construction generated hundreds of local jobs and will benefit the community for decades to come. It is the culmination of years of effort by many community stakeholders working together to realize a vision to preserve and support the rich cultural and artistic heritage that makes Santa Cruz unique.
 
You are invited to explore the studios, offices, and social space; visit with some of the artists and see their "works in progress;" learn about the final phase of development of the new Performing Arts Center; and, of course, join the Chamber Ambassadors and business networkers for an evening of food, drink, and socializing.

The Tannery will be offering tours through the main studio featuring demonstrations by some of Santa Cruz’s premiere artists. You are also welcome to take a self-guided tour through the center and "Salz Tannery Alley" featuring photographs of the area by Ansel Adams.

Wine, soft drinks, and food by Rebecca's Mighty Muffins will be served.

Cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. No RSVP is required-we hope to see you there!

Parking is at the second entrance past the light on the right. Park and then walk back up midway through the Tannery. The Media Center will be on your right.

The Tannery Arts Center is dedicated to providing an affordable, accessible and sustainable home for Santa Cruz County artists and arts, cultural, education and heritage organizations so that all offerings on this historically significant campus may be enjoyed by residents, visitors and the general public.

Santa Cruz Chamber Networking Mixers are held on the last Wednesday of each month from 5 - 7 pm. Mixers are a great place to network in a social atmosphere, and hosting a mixer provides an opportunity for member businesses to showcase their locations, products, and services.
