This course will introduce SketchUp to new and beginning users, including an overview of features, modeling and texturing processes, setting up scenes, hidden features, and presentation techniques. In the final class students will be introduced to SketchUp’s close links with Google Earth and how to move their projects into this environment. Instructor Chris Yonge has used SketchUp professionally for ten years for architectural and product rendering and is a registered Google for NonProfits SketchUp/Google Earth developer.
Requirements: a recent Mac or PC laptop with a working installation of SketchUp 8 (free or professional), a 3 button mouse, and the ability to perform basic computer operations.

MakersFactory is a new educational maker space in downtown Santa Cruz, CA, where students of all ages will learn and use exciting new technology for 3D printing, modeling, animation, and robotics. MakersFactory students and members will be able to design, prototype, and manufacture a wide variety of items, from simple 3D objects to complex mechanical/electronic products.
