On Wednesday, January 25th, the Santa Cruz Derby Girls invite fans, friends, and community members to the Santa Cruz Chamber Networking Mixer from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The mixer will be held at the SCDG training facility at 2200 Delaware Ave, Santa Cruz. Bring plenty of business cards and join us for an evening of food, drink (donated by Lillian's Italian Kitchen), networking, and learn more about the Santa Cruz Derby Girls, including a roller derby demonstration. This event is open to the public and a rare opportunity to see where your Santa Cruz Derby Girls, Groms, and Refs train. The cost is $5 for chamber members and $10 for non-members. No RSVP is required—we hope to see you there!

About the Santa Cruz Derby Girls
The Santa Cruz Derby Girls (SCDG) is a 501(c)3 non-profit amateur roller derby league in Santa Cruz, California. SCDG promotes the sport of women's roller derby by fostering local, state, national and international amateur sports competition. SCDG provides the skills training necessary for participation in local, state, national and inter league competition and is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). In addition, SCDG is dedicated to joining forces with local organizations to provide volunteer support, and our volunteer efforts have aided multiple organizations in Santa Cruz.

SCDG is operated by over 100 league members who comprise the women who skate, a wonderful support staff of non-skaters, and a group of women and men who make up the Track Pack (our ref crew). Since inception SCDG has donated over $10,000 and over 550 volunteer hours to more than 22 nonprofits, schools, and community groups. SCDG also reaches out to our local youth through the Santa Cruz Derby Groms, our junior derby program and junior ref program. As SCDG continues to expand we look forward to representing Santa Cruz on a national level as a Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) member league.

Tickets are on sale now for the first bout of the 2012 season, which will be held on February 18th at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium. The season home opener is a special chance to watch favorite Santa Cruz derby girls go head to head. Fans will also get a sneak peek into Santa Cruz's newest up and comers as they take the track alongside SCDG veterans.

Santa Cruz Chamber Networking Mixers are held on the last Wednesday of each month from 5 - 7 pm. Mixers are a great place to network in a social atmosphere, and hosting a mixer provides an opportunity for member businesses to showcase their locations, products, and services.
