The Monterey Bay Classic Thunderbird Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of classic Thunderbirds. Our members enjoy showing and driving their Thunderbirds in Car Shows and on club outings.
We are the host of the annual event “THUNDERBIRDS ON THE SANTA CRUZ WHARF”, featuring the classic 1955-1957 and the 1958-1965 vintage Thunderbirds. Each year about 100 Thunderbirds and hundreds of people participated in the show. Spectators from throughout the area come to view the classic Thunderbirds, join in the events and participate in the raffles. Additionally, Thunderbird clubs from all over California and Nevada caravan to the wharf in Santa Cruz to participate. Many stay the weekend. The ocean, the mountains, the wharf, the restaurants, and the retail stores all create a powerful attraction.
The Monterey Bay Classic Thunderbird Club stays involved in our community. We participate in Toys for Tots, have contributed to the local Red Cross, Children’s Hospice & Palliative Care Coalition, Shriner’s Childrens Hospital, attend invitational parades and we support a local program, called ROP, dedicated to training future automotive technical personnel.
We encourage car buffs of every age to come out and enjoy our cars. If you are interested in more information about our club, want to join, or have general questions, please feel free to contact us.
