Please join us for a very special Women in Business Luncheon to celebrate the holidays and help those in need right here in Santa Cruz. The "Giving" luncheon features networking, a delicious lunch and a fascinating speaker, presentation of Student of the Quarter Marisela Madrigal, and a raffle for fabulous themed baskets to benefit our scholarship fund. We will also be collecting new and gently used children's coats to support Coats for Kids.

For more info on John Gray. visit – www.marsvenus.comAbout Coats for KidsClassic Cleaners is conducting its sixth annual Coats For Kids Drive and the Chamber will be collecting donations at next week's Women in Business Holiday "Giving" Luncheon.
Last year, Classic Cleaners collected more than 8,000 coats for need families. This year, Classic Cleaners' Coats for Kids Drive has teamed up with Second Harvest Food Bank and Girl Scouts from Capitola, Soquel, and Aptos in hopes of collecting food and coats for needy families in the county. Bay Federal and an anonymous donor have also made a generous donation to the Girl Scouts. Kohl's at the Capitola Mall will be opening at a special time so the scouts can go on a Coat Shopping Spree using the donated money to buy more coats for the drive.
We hope you will join in and help make the holiday season brighter for families in Santa Cruz by bringing a new or gently used coat or jacket to the luncheon. Coats for all ages are needed—no red or blue coats, please.About Marisela MadrigalOur student of the quarter, Marisa Madrigal, is a student at Pajaro Valley High School. She was nominated by her high school counselor to be Business Student of the Quarter. Marisela has shown a tremendous resilience in the face of her life's considerable challenges. She has been an active member of the school's Gay Straight Alliance club and now is the club president. She helps translate during parent meetings and has learned to run the school office equipment like a proMarisela took initiative to learn job skillls and enrolled herself in the Suenos program. She worked hard to earn her Food Safety Training Certificate, her Hospitality and Customer Service Certificate, and has completed a job placement gaining experience and confidence in her job skills. Upon completing the program, Marisela put her new skills to work for the GSA club. She learned to make chocolates, and made some samples for a fundraiser. She continues to look for ways to help herself and her family.The inner strength and determination she has exhibited make her a remarkable young woman and our Student of the Quarter.
Our giving luncheon is a great opportunity to hear a wonderful speaker, connect with other businesspeople, and help our community and local causes. Women in Business luncheons are organized by the Santa Cruz Chamber Women in Business committee but everyone is invited, including men.

Raffle: Proceeds from the Raffle benefit the Women in Business Scholarship.
