We want YOU to hit the beaches to spread the positive Clean Beaches message with us over the busy Fourth of July holiday. On Monday, July 4th, 1-5pm: Volunteers will hand out trash and recycling bags on our busiest beaches while encouraging visitors to properly dispose of and pack out their trash.
On Tuesday, July 5th, from 8-10am: Volunteers will join forces for the Star Spangled Beach Cleanup, the second largest beach cleanup of the year!
Volunteers needed in Santa Cruz County: Main/Cowell Beach, Seabright Beach, Twin Lakes State Beach, Moran Lake Beach, and Seacliff/Rio Del Mar Beach!
Volunteers needed in Monterey County: Del Monte Beach/Monterey Municipal Beach at Wharf #2!
Why do we do it? The long, beach-going Fourth of July holiday weekend leaves our beautiful beaches completely trashed and polluted, harming marine life and public health. Last year, our July 5th volunteers removed 3,150 lbs. of pollution from just 6 Santa Cruz beaches in 3 hours. It's essential we work together to Take Action for pollution prevention this holiday weekend.
