When Hands Across the Sand became a worldwide event in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf last year, over 1,000 protest events took place in 43 countries, and all 50 US states. Hands Across the Sand quickly became the largest gathering of people united against offshore oil drilling in the history of the world.
This June 25th, Take Action for clean energy and healthy marine habitats by joining us at 11 a.m. on Cowell Beach for a quick beach cleanup followed by the Hands Across the Sand protest. Together, we'll send a clear message that dirty oil is not the answer - and we demand clean energy now. Speak out and help protect our marine environment by uniting with Save Our Shores, Surfrider Santa Cruz, and thousands of Hands Across the Sand participants around the world.
