HERSTORY: MESSAGES OF CHALLENGE AND HOPE

What makes it possible to emerge from the "the worst of times" with spirit intact, motivated to succeed and filled with a sense of purpose? How do we overcome our fear, confusion, and despair when things seem most difficult to bear? Three inspiring women will tell their stories and talk together about what has sustained them.

DONNA M. MURPHY,

UC Santa Cruz, Vice Chancellor for University Relations, is responsible for UCSC strategic communications and fund-raising. Donna oversees the offices of Development, Alumni Relations, Public Affairs, Special Events, and Community and Governmental Relations. She has had similar positions at two other major universitiesand as an executive with the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative and Save the Children.

ELAINE R. KIERNAN,

is the founder and president of Financial Resource Associates. As a Certified Financial Planner, Elaine and her company provide investment counseling and services. She is a Registered Investment Advisor and Registered Principal/Branch Manager of Geneos Wealth Management, Inc., Member FINRA, SIPC. Elaine is also certified as a Divorce Financial Analyst and has served on the board of directors of the McPherson Art & History Museum, the Santa Cruz Art League, the Planned Giving Council of Monterey County, Camp Opportunity, the Visiting Nurse Association and Community Bridges for Santa Cruz County.

CHERYL REBOTTARO,

is a Financial Advisor Morgan Stanley. Secretary of the executive board of The Women’s Council of Realtors, Cheryl also serves as the Treasurer of the San Lorenzo Valley Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Investment committee for the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation Endowment Fund and the Planned Giving committee for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Cheryl has also been a popular local musician.

THERESA THOMAE

, Executive Director of the Central Coast Small Development Center will moderate the Panel.

Reservations are Required: $32 for SC Chamber members and $50 for non-members
