On Tuesday, May 24, the City Council will meet at 7 p.m. to consider the proposal to build a Hyatt Place hotel on the current site of the Unity Church on Broadway.
The approved project’s plan imposes costs on the project such as funds to install traffic calming measures on side streets. The Council is meeting to review area residents’ response to the plan, which calls for further conditions for the project. The neighbors request the use of the hotel’s swimming pool and the installment of further traffic improvements.
On Tuesday the City Council will weigh the benefits of the Commission’s requests against the potential detriments to the hotel’s development and to the general development of local business. The meeting, which will be held in the Council Chambers, is open to the public.
