Event Description:

Relay For Life of Santa Cruz is a community supported annual event held each July at Cabrillo College in Aptos. This American Cancer Society awareness event educates our community about lifestyle choices to prevent cancer and early cancer detection testing guidelines.  The event also serves as a fundraiser to provide numerous services and programs to local cancer patients and to fund research to find cure.

Each year our community raises awareness of Relay For Life with a celebration day called Paint Our Town Purple and this year we will be celebrating county-wide on Wednesday, May 11, 2011.

Cherie Ribodeaux, Honorary Chairperson for Paint Our Town Purple and owner of Woodworm Party Store, invites local business to show their support by decorating with purple helium balloons. Woodworm Party Store will be providing balloons to all businesses supporting Paint Our Town Purple for a discounted price of only $.50 per balloon. You can place your order for purple balloons at either the Capitola or Santa Cruz Woodworm Party Store location. Simply reference “Paint Our Town Purple” when placing your order to take advantage of this special pricing. All businesses supporting Paint Our Town Purple will be listed in a Sentinel ad, the Relay For Life of Santa Cruz event program and on our website. Relay For Life of Santa Cruz is scheduled for Saturday, July 16, 2011, 10:00 AM to Sunday, July 17, 2011 10:00 AM.
