Event Description: Explore the various levels of editing that contribute to a professional-caliber book. We'll learn about the early work of developmental editing, the important stylistic and mechanical work that helps establish consistency, and the final polishing pass to ensure quality. We'll also discuss the dynamic between authors and editors, including some of the myths that flutter around the creative heat of conflict and drama. We'll end on a high note by staring some funny/embarrassing editing bloopers -- and tips for avoiding making these same mistakes in your own writing. With presenter and author Laurie Gibson.
