Event Description: The Festival of the Book, a festival celebrating reading and another successful Summer Reading Program by the Santa Cruz Public Libraries, will be on Sunday July 30th at Harvey West Park from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This energy-filled celebration of children’s literacy will feature tasty food, entertaining crafts, colorful face paint, and professional jugglers from Circus of Smiles. Certified therapy dogs will also be at the festival, providing a comfortable and nonjudgmental audience for children to read aloud to. And of course, there will be free stuff. Children who participated in this years’ Summer Reading Program will receive a free hot dog lunch and a free book at the Kid’s Only Book Sale!
