The Ensemble Monterey Chamber Orchestra presents Five’s a Crowd on April 2nd and 3rd. Five’s a Crowd presents compositions for string quartet plus 1. It features the Suite from Dmitri Shostakovich’s popular film score, The Gadfly. Then, Clarinetist Erica Horn solos in Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet, and Jane Orzel solos in Gordon Jacob’s Suite for Bassoon and String Quartet.
Five’s a Crowd is presented on Saturday, April 2nd, at 8 PM in the Monterey Peninsula College Music Hall, and on Sunday, April 3rd, at 7 PM at The First Congregational Church in Santa Cruz. Be sure to come one hour early for a concert talk and complementary reception with conductor John Anderson.
