Effective supervisors are able to establish performance standards, deliver feedback in a way that enhances the performance of all employees (not just those who are not meeting expectations) and, when necessary, implement terminations in a manner that does not create legal risk for the organization or damage its culture. This seminar will offer practical tips on how to accomplish these basic but extremely important tasks. Are You Ready for Implementation of California’s New Paid Sick Leave Law on July 1, 2015? California passed one of the first paid sick leave laws in the nation. The law applies to almost every employer in California and requires certain notice and record-keeping. In addition, employer’s must choose between granting paid sick leave using an accrual method or using a lump sum method. While relatively straightforward on its face, the law presents some implementation issues that require some analysis and diligence by the employer. This seminar will review the requirements of the law and how to best implement it with your current leave entitlements. Overtime Rules and Best Practices for Compliance In concept, California’s overtime rules seem relatively simple. However, compliance involves understanding the rules, applying those rules on a daily basis and documenting compliance. This seminar will offer a brief refresher on OT rules and recommended compliance strategies.
