Event Description: The City of Santa Cruz and the San Lorenzo River Alliance, a coalition led by the Coastal Watershed Council, invite you to the summer River Paddle Series! Each attendee is limited to RSVP for one paddle event so that a wide variety of people can enjoy this unique opportunity. The dates and times for the summer River Paddle Series are: May 31st 1-4 pm June 21st 5-8 pm July 12th 10 am – 1 pm Aug. 9th 5-8 pm Sept. 13th 12-3 pm. The River Paddle Series is a pilot program, designed to learn more about how to increase access to the river for residents and visitors. Attendees must bring their own watercraft (non-motorized canoes, kayaks, rowboats or stand-up paddleboards), personal floatation device, whistle and sturdy shoes. The specific launch point will be determined by river flow and announced just prior to the event to attendees via email. All paddle events in the series are contingent upon safe river conditions. All summer paddle event dates and times correspond with high tidal influence and river flow will be carefully monitored prior to each event. RSVP is required as space is limited!
