Information Sessions - April 17, Museum of Art & History Explore the ancient lands of Ireland with the Santa Cruz Chamber and Pacific Harbor Travel. Beginning September 1, 2014, you will have twelve days to immerse yourself in the art, culture, and history of the Emerald Isle... and in the luxurious accommodations of some of the finest hotels in the world. We will begin our journey in Dublin and head up to Boyne Valley and alongside the Mountains of Mourne to the Northern Capital of Belfast. Along the way, we will make a stop at Newgrange where our entrance to the Bru Na Boinne Visitor Center allows us to visit the Neolithic tombs of Newgrange and Knowth. Newgrange was constructed over 5,000 years ago, making it older than Stonehenge and the Great Pyramid of Giza! In Northern Ireland, we will visit the Giants Causeway, an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns. We’ll learn of both the fabled tale of how this rock formation became to be, or perhaps we will chose to believe it was a result of an ancient volcanic eruption? Along the way to the south of Ireland we will view the famous Cliffs of Moher. These cliffs rise approximately 700 feet above the pounding Atlantic waves leisurely excursion around the magnificent Ring of Kerry. Here, mountains, valleys, lakes, and sea blend into a landscape that is often breathtaking beyond words. We’ll journey past lush lake lands and around towering cliffs affording sweeping sea views. We’ll have time to enjoy a stop at Torc Waterfall, located at the base of Torc Mountain in Killarney National Park. Of course, no visit to Ireland is complete without a visit to Blarney Castle to perhaps hang upside down from the ramparts to kiss the stone and ensure a lifetime of eloquence. Our next stop is at the Jameson’s Distillery in Middleton where we will have a tour and tasting of the Irish whiskey. Continuing on, we arrive in Waterford City where we will visit the world famous House of Waterford Crystal showroom and meet a master craftsman. Our visit concludes back at the capital city of Dublin.
The price for this travel package is extraordinary: $3,890, double occupancy.
