SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA – The Santa Cruz County Conference & Visitors Council (CVC) will host a free open house event on Wednesday, January 19th from 4PM to 7PM. The open house will allow community members and local businesses and organizations to tour the CVC’s year round visitor center and marketing offices at 303 Water Street, Suite 100 in Santa Cruz. In addition to CVC staff and Board of Directors, Lynn Carpenter, Vice President of Marketing for the California Travel & Tourism Commission (CTTC) will be in attendance. Maggie Ivy, CVC Executive Vice President and CEO and Lynn Carpenter will also be available to provide updates on efforts to promote travel to Santa Cruz County and The Golden State, respectively. Additionally, members of the Central Coast Tourism Council board of directors will be in attendance, as part of their annual board retreat at the Santa Cruz Dream Inn with special activities planned at the Coconut Grove.
The open house event will also feature the debut of the 2011 Official Santa Cruz County Traveler’s Guide. A special unveiling of the cover will take place during the event. Local photographer Paul Schraub snapped the cover photo, described as an ethereal image and a departure in style from previous Traveler’s Guide covers. The glossy, magazine-style Traveler’s Guide is published every year, and contains sections on activities, events, a county-wide map, and dining and lodging grids highlighting the amenities offered by various restaurants, hotels, bed and breakfast inns, campgrounds and other property choices. Destination and theme-oriented stories with accompanying photography round out the official guide.
