CASA of Santa Cruz County Announces Its Annual Community Awards Honorees CASA of Santa Cruz County will be celebrating their 2013 Community Awards honorees at a special gathering on Monday November 18, 2013 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the CASA house in Watsonville. CASA’s Community Awards honor outstanding members of the community for their support of children in the foster care system. This year’s honorees are: Education: Caroline Currie, Santa Cruz County Office of Education Organization: California Giant Berry Farms Individual: Honorable Denine Guy, Santa Cruz Dependency Court Judge Judge Guy will also be receiving the Gary Proctor Award, established to recognize a professional whose advocacy for children goes above and beyond the ordinary, and follows the example of Gary Proctor, a widely-respected and dedicated attorney who was an inspirational advocate for families and children in foster care.
