Event Description: In honor of Erik's 40th Anniversary, we are giving gifts instead of receiving. We will be donating 50% of net proceeds from three different locations to local charities for our Erik's Gives Back Tour.

During the three-day tour, founder Erik Johnson invites guests to join the celebration as the home-grown restaurants host a series of events supporting local non-profits, just as the community has supported Erik's since the first deli opened on Sept. 17, 1973.

Monday, Sept. 16

• Benefitting Santa Cruz SPCA
• The SPCA will hold adoption event from 11am – 5pm outside the store

Tuesday, Sept. 17
• Erik’s DeliCafé of Scotts Valley
• Benefitting Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks
• The first Erik's opened on Sept. 17, 1973
• Surfers vs. Mountain Bikers Sandwich Eating Contest
• 40 Years Sweepstakes Winner Announced
• Free 40th Anniversary T-Shirts for 1st 150 customers at ALL Erik's!

Wednesday, Sept. 18
• Erik’s DeliCafé of Downtown Santa Cruz
• Benefitting Boys & Girls Club of Santa Cruz
• Santa Cruz Vice Mayor Lynn Robinson will give a proclamation at City Hall commemorating Erik’s DeliCafe’s 40th Anniversary at 3 pm - public invited join the festivities in the Rose Garden.
• Boys & Girls Club kids will be creating a time capsule, which will be sealed at the Erik's DeliCafé for the next 40 years, with instructions to be opened on September, 17 2053.

But that's not all! The first 150 customers at all 31 Erik's DeliCafés will receive a Free 40th Anniversary T-Shirt with any purchase on Sept. 17. Get to the nearest Erik's early to get yours!
