It’s not too early to register for the inaugural Shuttle Smith Adventure’s Demo Daze at Soquel Demonstration Forest, (Demo) this fall on October 25 through 27, 2013.
This is a weekend consisting of a day filled with as many shuttles you can handle with top-of-the-line manufacturers from local bike shops. Epicenter Bicycles will have on hand Treks, Family Cycling Center will have Specialized Bicycles’s to demo and the Bicycle Trip has got you covered if you want to demo a Yeti. Get as many runs in as you can, and we’ll meet you at the bottom for the next run. Saving time and energy for the good stuff--the downhill--how many runs can you handle or will you fade quickly? Are you ready for Demo Daze?
Camp Loma is your home base for the weekend, only half a mile away from Demo, deep in the Redwood Forest. After blazing Braille and Saw Pit, you’ll feast on fresh Mexican food from Deedee’s Taqueria out of Corralitos with a casual jump jam with local pro dirt jumpers showing off. As night falls, you’ll watch Mara the fire dancer perform at Camp Loma Saturday night. Bring your instruments as there’s an amphitheatre so that we can rock out beneath the stars. Camp Loma is a full campsite, complete with showers to wash off that Demo hero dirt and camping is provided both nights.
Demo is deep in the mountains, located between beautiful Aptos and the Summit off of highway 17, not even an hour away from San Jose. Demo is world-renowned for it’s legal, yet tight and challenging single track winding through oak and redwood forests. With high performance demo bikes available, convenient camping replete with plumbing, and a party Saturday night, this is available for only $275! Brought to you by Shuttle Smith Adventures, a shuttle service located near Nisene Marks, it was founded by a local mountain biker in 2010. Limited to 100 riders, so get your reservation in early! A portion of the proceeds will go to Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz for trail maintenance.
