The Davenport Resource Service Center, a program of the Community Action Board of Santa Cruz County (CAB), Inc. will present its annual CINCO DE MAYO FESTIVAL on Saturday, May 4th, 2013. The admission-free event will take place at the Davenport Resource Service Center, 150 Church Street in Davenport from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
Special entertainment features have been added including:
- White Hawk Dancers, - Mariachi Alma de Mexico - Grupo Folklórico Los Mejicas
Also included this year is a children's carnival area, with activities like art, face painting, sports, an ice cream cart, and other special fun events.
Traditional Mexican food will be sold, including inexpensive plates of mole with chicken, fresh home roasted pork, chile rellenos, or beef tacos. All plates come with rice, beans and salad. Also available are special items a la carte, desserts including fresh strawberries with cream, and aguas frescas (fresh juice).

The Davenport CINCO DE MAYO FESTIVAL is a fundraiser to support the Davenport Resource Service Center's programs for low-income, North Coast residents. Programs offered include thrice monthly food distributions, afterschool homework tutoring, a teen center, information and referral, summer recreation programs, farmworker outreach and assistance, and more.
