Rescheduled to Tuesday July 9
Krista Hammond, owner of Santa Cruz Sea Glass will be discussing
Being fearless in business relies on a foundation of strong relationships and Krista hopes to make new ones this year through the Chamber.
Kick off your day with a light breakfast, a great presentation, and a chance to network with other Santa Cruz business people.
Santa Cruz Sea Glass was launched in 2006 by Krista Hammond and her husband, Tony Berkowitz. They are long time surfers and have been collecting sea glass together for many years. They are amazed at the beautiful and rare pieces they find along the beaches of Santa Cruz and the Monterey Bay. They create environmentally responsible, high quality pieces of jewelry using only natural unaltered sea glass combined with pure USA sourced sterling silver. No imports - no shortcuts, they make every piece with their own two hands. They are able to create one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry while partnering with the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation so a portion of sales is donated directly back to the ocean. They also started the Santa Cruz Sea Glass & Ocean Art festival - in its 5th year in 2013 - and give back 10% of admission to the newly opened Exploration Center in Santa Cruz. They just published a book in 2013 in conjunction with Lundberg studios telling the unique story of this amazing and rare sea glass. Rare pieces of sea glass and high quality craftsmanship are what set Santa Cruz Sea Glass apart.
Santa Cruz Women in Business hosts the Wake Up, Santa Cruz small-meeting networking series the first Thursday of each month. Wake Up, Santa Cruz is designed to create a more intimate atmosphere and an opportunity for teaching and learning. We welcome you to join us to make connections, meet new business people, learn ways to improve your career and business, and become informed about the activities going on in our local community. Limited to 40 participants, the session also includes introductions and conversation. A light breakfast is served. The cost is $15 for SC Chamber members and $25 for non-members. Wake Up, Santa Cruz is organized by the Santa Cruz Chamber Women in Business committee but everyone is welcome, men included.
