An Introduction to Aikido and the Application of its Principles to Business & Management For Members and Friends of the Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce
Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Aikido of Santa Cruz
You are invited to join us for a short, engaging workshop for members of the Santa Cruz business community. The purpose of this event is to introduce the principles of Aikido and show you how they can increase your effectiveness as a leader and business owner/manager.
Aikido teaches us to lead, rather than oppose. It emphasizes the principles of centering, grounding, and responding with calm leadership to challenges and difficult situations. This session will describe these principles and give you a chance to try out some of the disciplines in a low-impact class setting.
The seminar will be taught by Glen Kimoto who has studied Aikido for 40 years. The session will feature solo and interactive exercises that demonstrate the principles of Aikido you can apply to your daily experience immediately. The session will include some gentle warm-up exercises and an opportunity to try out some of the balance and movement elements of Aikido. The instructor will also demonstrate advanced Aikido techniques. We will have snacks and Q&A for 15 minutes at the end.
Aikido training is challenging, fun, and beneficial - come see for your self!
The seminar is $5 for Chamber members and $10 for non-members. No pre-registration - pay at the door. If you have questions about the event or would like more information please call Laurie McCann, Community Outreach Coordinator (831-234-9086.).
We hope you will join us! Please wear comfortable street clothes.
