The Satellite in Scotts Valley will host a free reception and slide presentation by local underwater photographer Marc Shargel.
Marc began showing his underwater photographs professionally in 1988. He spent the summer of 1978 studying marine biology at Stanford's Hopkins Marine Station in Pacific Grove and hasn't stopped diving since. In 2000 he co-founded the first of two marine conservation organizations focused on California's central coast; he published his first of his three books in 2008. More than 7,000 of Shargel's images can be seen at http://www.livingseaimages.com/ .
