Women in Business Luncheon: Monday, March 8 Big Changes Coming for Healthcare in Santa Cruz
Dr. Nanette Mickiewicz, President of Dominican Hospital, will speak on Big Changes Coming for Healthcare in Santa Cruz, No Matter What Happens in Washington at the WiB Luncheon March 8 at the Cocoanut Grove.
Santa Cruz has been a healthcare model for many communities. Traditional hospital and physician healthcare providers have joined with local nonprofit medical and dental organizations, the County’s Medi-Cruz program, Healthy Kids, the Health Improvement Partnership and others to create a network of resources that encourages and sustains community health.
Innovation and collaboration will continue to have key roles as local healthcare transforms into an integrated system that transcends traditional models. The new vision for our Santa Cruz communities is responsive to the social forces that are at work in Santa Cruz and that are defining the healthcare reform debate in Washington. The new model also proactively provides solutions--- no matter what happens on the national political scene---to problems that have come to define our approach to healthcare.
Dr. Mickiewicz’s perspective on local healthcare is formed not only by her role as the executive of the largest health care facility in Santa Cruz County but also as physician practicing in Santa Cruz for nearly 20 years with specialties in infectious diseases and internal medicine.
Join us at the Cocoanut Grove. Early registration cost is $34 for SC Chamber members and $45 for non-members. (After March 3 the cost is $40 for SC Chamber members and $50 for non-members.)
