When: Thursday, January 19, 2012, doors open at 6:30 pm
Format: Open House – 6:30 to 7:00 pm and after 8:00 pm, Presentation – 7:00 to 8:00 pm
Where: DeLaveaga Elementary School, Multipurpose Room, 1145 Morrissey Boulevard, Santa Cruz
Why: To provide a forum for the community to hear about project features and ask questions directly to project management and construction staff. Displays will include: project timing, construction elements, soundwall locations, environmental features, landscaping plans, project communication options and past/present/future Highway 1 projects. In addition, Commute Solutions staff will be on hand to help facilitate carpool connections and information about transportation alternatives.

Funding: Funding sources for the construction phase include voter-approved Proposition 1B–State Transportation Bond and the region’s local share of the State Transportation Improvement Program. The state has already released funds to construct the project.
Who:Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) is the lead agency for construction management of the project with the assistance of a construction management firm. The RTC is responsible for delivering a full range of safe, convenient, reliable and efficient transportation choices for the community.
