The County of Santa Cruz invites sealed proposals for Rio Del Mar Esplanade Concessions Services for 105 Esplanade in Aptos from fully insured Concessionaire(s) to furnish all labor and incidentals. Currently, no business or concession services are being provided at the location. The County purchased the Rio Del Mar Esplanade properties, specifically Assessor’s Parcel Numbers 042-151-21 and 042-151-22, at a public auction due to defaulted property taxes. The use of this site is intended for public purpose to ensure the parcels are managed in a manner that is consistent with the adjoining land uses and other County-owned property. The combined square footage for both parcels is an estimated 2986 square feet. The site is currently not developed, empty, and has a sand base. There are no utility hookups, outbuildings, or storage facilities currently located on the site. The site is located between businesses that line the storefront along the Esplanade and face oceanward toward Rio Del Mar State Beach. The site provides an opportunity for enhancement to the current business environment, recreation opportunities, and economic development of the area. Proposals are being solicited for concession sales that may include components such as: food service with outdoor seating, beach and ocean-related supplies and equipment rentals and/or sales, and/or other proposals that meet the enhancement goals.
