UC Santa Cruz Economics Department M.S. program in applied economics and finance invites companies recruiting in fields such as data science, analytics, consulting, data research, and finance to partner with our program. The Economics Department will host a morning job fair on April 20, 2018 to facilitate student-employer networking and collaboration. This job forum will provide Santa Cruz and Bay Area companies an intimate opportunity to meet with our graduating master’s students for their skilled hiring needs requiring data and quantitative analysis, quantitative reasoning, and effective communication skills. There is no fee for participating employers. About the M.S. program in applied economics and finance: The M.S. program in applied economics and finance (APEF) provides students advanced econometric techniques, statistical software packages, and large-scale financial and microeconomic data sets. Concentrated into 10 months, the intensity of the program realistically prepares students for rewarding and competitive careers in the world of business, finance, consulting, and government. Students are screened for extensive coursework in math and economics and the program builds on these strengths during their time at UC Santa Cruz. Our students come from a diverse set of backgrounds, both domestic and international. International students in the program are eligible to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT) for 1 year of employment and are also eligible for the OPT Stem Extension for an additional 2 years of employment.
