The Pinnacles National Park Foundation will be hosting its inaugural Sam Farr Pinnacles Service Award Dinner on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Wave Street Studios, 774 Wave Street, Monterey CA from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Please join us as we honor former Congressman Sam Farr for his dedication to the stewardship of Pinnacles through his efforts to elevate the park from a National Monument to a National Park. Meet with park staff, enjoy music, wine, a farm-to-fork dinner from executive chef Mike Fisher, and an auction of wonderful items and experiences as we seek to raise funds to support programs and projects that create lasting benefits to Pinnacles National Park. As the nonprofit dedicated to supporting Pinnacles National Park, the Pinnacles National Park Foundation funds needs that cannot be met through existing budgets with the charitable support of our donors and friends. Funding needs prioritized by the NPS staff make park visits more enjoyable while ensuring the lasting preservation of the wildlife, ecosystems, and cultural resources found within the park. These include a science camp for 360 4th and 5th gr. students students, assistance tagging and tracking endangered California condors, creating interpretive informational signage, and the maintenance and upgrading of existing hiking trails. Tickets to the event are $150, and available online at http://www.pinnaclespartnership.org/events. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Donations of auction items are still being accepted.
