The Veterans Memorial Building Board of Trustees, the United Veteran's Council and the Veteran's Resource Center is facilitating a Visioning 'Advance' (hey, we're veterans; we don't use negative words like 'retreat') as a follow-up to our February 23 Visioning Summit. We're now asking you, as our community resources, for your creative thoughts on how we can envision future trends and examine opportunities. Our goal is making the Veterans Building venue a more accessible and dynamic part of our wider community, with emphasis on music, theatre, arts, history, education, youth programs, and expanding appropriate veteran services. Using small groups and concentrated dialogue [no 'ice-breaker' get acquainted games, trust-building exercises, cut & paste, or group hugs], we'll briefly review the input offered by our 80+ community Summit attendees, examine our draft Three-Phase Strategic Plan based on those comments, and ask for your help to move us forward (remember, not a 'retreat'). We intend to step up, rethink, realign and create a collaborative approach to bring the VMB facility to its full potential. If there's other stakeholders, or folks you know with talent and passion, that should be at the table and we've overlooked them on this list, please feel free to inform us - or pass the message along - so they can be invited. Please save the date: May 4th (Thursday) 9:00 am to 11:00 am Veterans Memorial Building 846 Front Street Please RSVP to vetbuilding846@gmail.com Copies of the Three-Phase Strategic Draft will be sent to attendees in advance. There will be an opportunity to tour the facility prior to our meeting. Questions? Call / text Stoney Brook @ 831-345-6465
