The Coastal Watershed Council, as part of the Riverwalk Engagement Plan, proposes to energize the community to reconnect with the Santa Cruz Riverwalk. The goal is that Santa Cruz, like so many communities nationwide, can celebrate a riverfront that we’re proud of. We have an incredible space in the heart of downtown Santa Cruz – the Santa Cruz Riverwalk. This path along the San Lorenzo River is a great way to get outside, to break from your screen for a moment and take a stroll in nature. This Friday, at 12:00 noon, walks will meet up at businesses throughout downtown Santa Cruz and on the riverwalk. The groups will converge to enjoy the river as a community. We’ll be greeted at the Riverwalk exercise plaza behind Ross and PetSmart by The Penny Ice Creamery for a cone while we enjoy the natural beauty of the San Lorenzo River.
