Friends Of Santa Cruz State Parks Announces Fourth Annual Mole & Mariachi Festival Will Be Sept. 10, 2016 Annual festival raises funds for Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park and features local food and entertainment Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks (Friends), an entrepreneurial nonprofit working to sustain the legacy of our state parks and beaches since 1976, seeks mole chefs as well as food and craft vendors for the 4th Annual Mole & Mariachi Festival. The Mole & Mariachi Festival is a benefit for nonprofit Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks in support of Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park. Funds raised will help fund educational programs, historical preservation, visitor services and park improvements. The Mole and Mariachi Festival is an admission-free, family-friendly event that brings together people of all ages, cultural backgrounds and abilities to celebrate history and culture while enjoying the Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park, which marks its 25th anniversary in 2016. The annual festival also highlights the saving of Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park from closure in 2012. The event features award-winning local food, beer, wine, live music, dancing, artisan crafts and fun for kids — and, of course, a mole tasting featuring succulent sauces made by local chefs rated by festival attendees and a panel of celebrity judges.
