Bay Federal Credit Union Raises $8,073 for Big Brothers Big Sisters Capitola, CA – May 6, 2016 – Bay Federal Credit Union members and employees raised $8,073 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Cruz County during the Bowl for Kids’ Sake pledge drive in the month of April. Twenty teams of Bay Federal employees and their loved ones filled the Boardwalk Bowl to support the nonprofit and donate the funds at the annual event on April 24. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Cruz County, which pairs adult volunteer mentors with at-risk youths in the community, uses the money to pay for operating costs and ongoing support for children and families in its program. All of the money raised for Bowl for Kids’ Sake stays at the local level. A team from Bay Federal’s Aptos Branch collected the most money of any of its 20 teams, raising $1,420. The team included Andy Brandenburg, Justina Jimenez, Drew Thompson, Richard Rodriguez, and Fernanda Catarino-Rojas.
